Joané Lensley hails from the old Vaal Driehoek and is your typical “Boere meisie”. She is an avid fan of rugby and only likes to watch the guys in a good scrum. She is a level 7 “lang arm” dancer and has a secret crush on Ray Dylan (Afrikaans singer). When this woman is on a roll in the workplace you’d better get out of the way, ’cause she’s a steam train that just does not stop! Very fitting too, as she races her shocking violet Opel Kadett Euro shape like a man!
A woman of many talents to say the least, Joané truly has changed the way Snowball thinks of the term ‘impeccable customer service’.
We thought it well to interview Joane and share a little more with the lady that took our Accounts Department by the horns.
What is your favorite food?
Plain pasta. Only cooked as is – no sauces or extras. [weirdo!]
Who is the one person in history that you would like to meet?
Princess Di, because she regarded people as equals and always helped others.
What was your first car?
Ford Escort 1986. That car was older than me! (laughs)
What is the fastest you’ve ever driven?
213 km/h with my mother’s Nissan 200SX of course!
If your life was turned into a movie, which actor would you play?
I’d like to play Reese Witherspoon in the movie ‘Just like Heaven’.
When you were young, what was your favorite TV show?
Kideo (surely, you must remember Timothy Traddle and Mr Chinwag?)
Describe the perfect music that gets you going:
Afrikaans music for sure! Anything I can dance to – like Opskop songs or “Langarm-treffers”.
What is your lucky number and why?
Definitely number 5. I grew up in a family of 5. So did my father and even his father.
It’s just a tradition that I would like to continue with my own family.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
A lioness, because I always pounce to protect and fight for my children.
What would you do if you won 50 million in the lottery?
Firstly, I will give a big chunk to my family and then I’d start a camping rental agency.
It has always been a dream of mine.
Do you sing in the shower?
Oh, I sing everywhere! Especially Juanita du Plessis songs and English pop songs!
(We know this is true, because Joané always hums in the office when she is lost in her work).
Well there you go folks. A soft heart, but a will as hard as a rock!
We are very proud to have Joané as a part of the team and hope to be spending many years together with this firecracker.
